PhD Research Workshops

Please mark your calendars for the three PhD Research Workshop of the spring 2017 semester:

February 9, Thursday, 4:30-6:30 pm

March 7, Tuesday, 4:30-6:30pm

April 3, Monday, 3:30-5:30pm

All workshops held in Founders Hall 602.  Snacks are provided.

Presentation slots are available for all three dates.  Schar School students from all of our PhD programs are encouraged to present their research, including working papers and ongoing projects. Faculty members are invited to give feedback.

These workshops take the format of “mini conferences” in which students present their ongoing research. Presenters receive constructive feedback from the faculty and engage fellow students in a discussion of potential research topics.

APPS students came together on September 9, 2016 to participate in George Mason’s 9/11 Day of Service. We volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Manassas, VA, clearing land and working hard for a good cause. Everyone had a good time and came out unscathed, despite the abundant poison ivy! Thanks to all that participated! We plan to hold many more events over the year — service, social, and academic — so please keep checking the events section of our website and follow us on Facebook!

Our work was noted in the online news organization PotomacLocal.com – check out the website for the full story!
